Let's make something epic
Dawa Thompson
I studied film in the States before landing at an ad agency in Lagos. Red Bull asked me to quit my job to help them make cool work in West Africa. I said yes. That was the beginning of DawaSuya Worldwide. While working on Red Bull projects, a director friend asked me to help him make a music video. I said yes again.
Fast forward ten years and dozens of projects later; DawaSuya Worldwide is my company built in service to cool creative projects and collaborations that push boundaries and redefine what is expected from production destinations across Africa to the world.
Let's make something epic.
Coldplay — In Between
About the Project
In Between is a short film made for Coldplay's Choose Love campaign, directed by Renee Maria Osubu and produced through Somesuch. Shot on location in Kenya, the film was one of the more ambitious pieces of content attached to the campaign — built around place and portraiture rather than performance.
DawaSuya handled all production on the ground in Kenya. The film received shortlist recognition at both the Creative Circle Awards 2026 and the 1.4 Awards 2026.

The film received a Vimeo Staff Pick, one of the most respected curatorial honours in short-form filmmaking.

About the Project
IAMISIGO, founded by Bubu Ogisi, is one of Africa's most internationally recognised fashion houses — a practice rooted in material research, indigenous craft, and a deeply considered relationship with the continent's textile traditions. When Zalando named IAMISIGO the winner of their 2025 Visionary Award, it marked a significant moment for African fashion on the global stage.
DawaSuya produced the accompanying fashion film across three countries — Lagos, Nairobi and Copenhagen — directed by Timi Akindele-Ajani. The film was featured on Nowness, the world's leading platform for creative culture.

IAMISIGO — SS26 Runway
About the Project
As the winner of the Zalando Visionary Award 2025, IAMISIGO was given the platform to present their Spring/Summer 2026 collection on the runway at Copenhagen Fashion Week — live streamed worldwide. This is the accompanying film, directed by Bubu Ogisi, documenting that moment.
The collection, titled Dual Mandate, reclaims Lord Lugard's colonial phrase and turns it inward — materials drawn from across the continent, techniques spanning hand-weaving, chainmail forging, glass blowing, and fibre knotting. DawaSuya led production. Covered by Vogue Scandinavia, Numéro Berlin, and SHOWstudio.
